Pigmented lesions are darker areas of the skin caused either by build-up of melanocytes, cells containing melanin (hypermelanocytosis) or excess melanin production but with normal melanocyte number (hypermelanosis).
Some pigmented lesions are present at birth, such as birthmarks, and some are acquired over time, such as sunspots on sun-exposed areas.
Most pigmented lesions are benign, but some are melanomas. We recommend that all pigmented lesions are cleared by a medical professional (preferably a dermatologist) prior to treatment. Once cleared, our medical aesthetician and laser technician will gladly perform the service using the safest and most advanced laser technology in laser pigment removal.
Revlite Q-Switched ND:YAG Laser, with PTP setting, acts like high-speed shutter that produces nanosecond pulse widths; Laser energy breaks down pigments into extra tiny particles to be later eliminated by our immune system.
